Become a playing member

We are always keen to receive applications from players interested in joining the Huddersfield Philharmonic Orchestra. Musicians would ideally be currently playing at grade 8 standard and have recent experience of playing with a symphony orchestra.

We are especially interested in hearing from players in the following disciplines:

  • Double Basses

  • Violins – First (forward desks), and also Second.

  • Violas

Other sections have a full compliment of musicians, so whilst applications for any position within the orchestra is welcomed, it is likely that you may be put on a waiting list.

We rehearse every Tuesday evening from 7:30pm, September to July, at:
